CALL Workshop at UoM: Reflections Day 1 (Blogger)

A CALL Workshop was arranged at the University of Malakand in collaboration with ELTR (HEC) for  English Language faculty of public sector university/colleges from 4th March to 9th March,2013.
I was tasked by the HEC to conduct the workshop at UoM along with Madam Akifa Imtiaz. It was decided that I should facilitate the first three days of the workshop and Madam Akifa would convene the last three days.

First day was hectic one because many things had to be done. Some plug-ins were needed to be installed. Despite some minor problems related to internet connectivity, the session went quite well. The remarkable thing was that all the participants displayed much enthusiasm in learning different CALL Tools. I had a B-plan ready for unseen bottlenecks. The moment internet connection created some problems I switched over to off-line version of many Web 2.0 tools.

Sir Imdadullah Khan, the coordinator UoM SAC & convener of the CALL Workshop, was offering all-out help during the session. Mr. Sohail, his admin assistant, was also on the go during the session.
I really enjoyed my first day with the participants. We had on-the-job training with the following CALL Tools: TodaysMeet     Penzu     Just-the-Word    PhotransEdit    Cloze Test Creator Lingro
 Screencast-o-Matic, Blogger and TechSmith Jing
Ideas were discussed regarding the practical utility of these resources in our language classrooms.

First day of the workshop was divided into three sub-sessions:
Pre Tea Break:   Opening Ceremony:       1hr 30 Minutes
Pre Lunch Session                                            1 hr 30 Minutes
Post Lunch Part-I                                              1 hr 30 Minutes
Post Lunch Part-II                                            1 hr 30 Minutes
